William Edward “Will” Oros, died unexpectedly at his home on February 7, 2025, surrounded by his devoted mother, Janice Oros, and his caregivers. He was 44.
Will was preceded in death by his father, William M. “Bill” Oros, his maternal grandparents, Edward and Ruth Hocevar, his paternal grandparents, Michael and Anna Oros, and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his loving mother, Janice Oros (née Hocevar), his sister, Mary Beth Collins, and her husband Don, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who held him dearly in their hearts. Will was a uniquely special and fiercely loved person, whose bright spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.
Born in Euclid, Ohio, Will spent much of his early life there with his family before moving to Ashtabula almost eight years ago. Known for his unforgettable “Will-grins” that lit up a room, his joy was a constant reminder of how uniquely wonderful he was. Will had a special bond with his mother, Janice, who was not only his tireless advocate but his closest companion. Their connection transcended words, built on a deep love and understanding that only they shared.
Will had a full and joyful life, despite his challenges. He cherished time with his caregivers and found comfort in the familiar activities he enjoyed. He was an avid fan of the Game Show Network, often spending hours watching his favorite shows. He was also a big fan of koosh balls, always keeping one close by. Will’s caregivers were more than just helpers to him; they became part of his extended family. His long-term caregiver, Sierra Sipe, held a special place in his heart, and the time they spent together at the Skills for Life center was one of the highlights of his days.
Will’s love for food was well-known. He had his favorites, like Greek yogurt, Wendy’s chili, chicken patties, pie, and tomato juice, and he would graze throughout the day, savoring the things he liked best. These simple joys brought him comfort and happiness.
Though Will faced intellectual and physical disabilities, his spirit was unbreakable. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, free from the struggles he endured, and in his perfected form, resting in the arms of Jesus.
The Oros family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the numerous provider agencies and caregivers who supported Will throughout his life, both in Cuyahoga County and Ashtabula County. Special thanks go to Vitality Supported Living, whose care made a significant impact on Will’s life in his final years.
