William Edward Byers Lincolnton, NC: An Inspector For Timken Dies at 63

LINCOLLNTON, NORTH CAROLINA – William Edward Byers, a beloved member of the Lincolnton community, died on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the age of 63. Known affectionately as Will, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and deep connections with family and friends. His passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Messiah United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jim Mathews officiating. The service will be a time for loved ones to gather, reflect, and honor Will’s life. Following the service, inurnment will take place at Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service, offering an opportunity for those who knew Will to offer their condolences and share memories.

Will was born on January 8, 1962, in Lincoln County, to the late Samuel Edgar Byers, Sr. and Sarah Inez Chapman Byers. He grew up in a close-knit family, deeply rooted in the values of love, resilience, and community. Will was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Samuel Edgar Byers, Jr. Despite these losses, he carried their legacy forward with grace and strength.

For many years, Will worked as an inspector for Timken, where he was known for his dedication, attention to detail, and strong work ethic. His colleagues respected him not only for his professional skills but also for his warm personality and willingness to lend a helping hand. Will’s commitment to his work was matched by his devotion to his family, who meant everything to him.

Will is survived by his brother, John Byers, and his wife, Patricia, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; his sister-in-law, Cara Byers of Crouse; six nieces, Jacey Maule, Casandra Byers, Kaitlin Walker, Jacqueline Byers, Laura Byers, and Sara Byers; and his great-niece, Daisy Mae Maule. He was a loving uncle who took great pride in his nieces and their accomplishments, always offering support and encouragement. His great-niece, Daisy, brought him immense joy, and he cherished the time they spent together.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the American Kidney Foundation at 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852. This gesture reflects Will’s compassionate spirit and his desire to help others, even in his absence.

Warlick Funeral Home is assisting the Byers family during this difficult time, providing support and guidance as they navigate their loss. The community has come together to offer condolences and share stories of Will’s impact on their lives, a testament to the profound effect he had on those around him.

Will’s life was marked by quiet strength, unwavering kindness, and a deep love for his family.
