Marylise’s passing has left many broken hearts in its wake, particularly among her family, friends, and school community at Skyland Elementary in Greer, SC. Her joyful spirit and courage during her health struggles touched the lives of everyone around her. As the community grieves this profound loss, many are asking for prayers for her family, especially her mother Brandy, father Ricky, and sisters Miley and Remi.

The loss of such a young, vibrant life has shaken the entire community. Marylise’s extended family, including Misty Dear and Rob, Jamie Moon, Heather, and their daughters, as well as her grandparents Roger Moon, Nanny Elizabeth Tooley (Janice), Nelson, and Joy, are all feeling the weight of this heartbreak. They, along with Marylise’s friends and the students and teachers at Blue Ridge, are leaning on their faith and each other during this incredibly difficult time.

Her family has asked for prayers to surround them, lifting them up during these moments of profound sorrow. They ask for God’s angels to wrap their arms around all those who loved Marylise and to bring peace to their broken hearts. The community, too, has joined in this call for support, hoping that prayers will help the family find strength as they navigate the days ahead.

The Tigerville community is also mourning Marylise’s passing. She and her family were part of the Tigerville Christmas Parade, and those who had the honor of meeting her were touched by her bravery, her sweet nature, and her infectious smile. The department members who met Marylise spoke of what an amazing and courageous person she was, and how deeply saddened they are by her loss. Their thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time, as they reflect on the joy she brought during their brief time together.

In the face of this tragedy, the strength of the community has been a beacon of hope. Neighbors, friends, and even strangers have rallied together, offering their prayers and support for the Mills family.
